Code of Conduct - Club Officials

This document deals with the code of conduct specific to Club Officials such as Coaches and Managers.  All Club Officials are duty bound by this code of conduct whenever they are representing the Club, whether it is on the field, off field or at any Club or League related function.

Responsible To

Club Coaches and Officials are directly responsible to the CWFC President.

Appropriate Conduct

  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all individuals within the context of my involvement in Australian Football, including refraining from any discriminatory practices on the basis of race, religion, ethnic background or special ability / disability.
  • Be reasonable in the demands I make on players' time, having due consideration for their health and well being.
  • Refrain from any form of personal abuse or unnecessary physical contact with the players in your care.
  • Show due consideration for varying maturity and ability levels of team players when designing activities and games.
  • Recognise the significance of injury and sickness, and follow the physician's advice concerning the return of injured or ill players.
  • Work within the guidelines as set out in the CWFC Player Pathway
  • At all times display and teach appropriate sporting behaviour, ensuring that players understand and practice fair play.
  • Keep informed of sound coaching principles.
  • Display and foster respect for umpires, coaches, administrators, other officials, parents and spectators.
  • Ensure that players are involved in a positive environment where skill learning and development are priorities and not overshadowed by the desire to win.
  • Reject the use of performance enhancing drugs, including caffeine & pseudoephedrine, and abide by the guidelines set forth in the AFL Drug Policy and the CWFC Healthy Club Policy.

  • When you are wearing your Club uniform or any other piece of clothing bearing the Club’s logo or insignia you are promoting the values of Claremont Women’s Football Club, Claremont District, Claremont Football Club and Women’s football, act accordingly
    • No lewd behaviour
    • No public displays of affection
    • No drunkenness
  • Promote and abide by the Club’s No Alcohol on the Field or in the Change Room policy
  • Do not undermine the position of the President or Committee.  While you may not agree with their position, they are working on a big picture view and in the best interests of the Club
  • Any concerns you have regarding Coaching or Club matters should be made in writing, where possible, to the Club President, not discussed with third parties
